Position: Project Manager with Insurance Domain Exp

Location: Houston, TX or Nashville, TX

Duration: 2015-02-02 to 2015-08-02

Rate: W2: $76.00 Per hr on C2C / $90.00 Per hr on C2C

Job Summary:

Must have Insurance background, preferably Life Insurance
Will be working on distributed systems in web application environment. Must have experience working with Java and .Net web-based apps
Hands-on development experience is not a must, but would be a plus
Product management experience is preferred. Manager wants resource to be able to write requirements if necessary and have good product knowledge
Must be able to interact with the developers

Life New Business technology team needs a Sr. Project Manager to manage multiple strategic projects and other bau development priorities. The project manager will help manage workslate, define requirements and deliver them to the business. In addition, the PM will learn the business and act as a product owner / SME to answer business questions and resolve production issues.

They will be working on eApps in my area. These are producer and customer facing apps for life insurance and support new business processing

I am looking for a project managers + product manager combination – someone who can manage the users, workslate, and become a subject matter expert in the way users use the app and can direct them on how to use the system – if there is any problem, work with the team to identify it and direct them to appropriate teams or realize that changes are required and then work with the business to define the changes and work with dev to prioritize it.

The person needs to be nimble and not get caught in one particular vertical that I am only a pm or I am only a ba. This person must wear multiple hats and be able to change direction and not get flustered with changing priorities and direction

Responsible for managing one or more highly complex or enterprise wide IT program(s) consisting of multiple projects. Develops the program strategy, supporting business case and various enterprise wide high-level project plans. Ensures integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the business. Responsible for delivering all projects contained in the IT project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business requirements. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending adjustments to Project Managers. Communicates the program strategy, direction and changes with IT leadership, business leadership and IT business consultants. Partners with senior leadership of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. This is a single or multiple incumbent(s) position that typically exists in a small to medium size enterprise with multiple project managers, project leaders and/or project support staff as direct or dotted line reports. Required: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience and 6+ years of IT and business/industry work experience
