Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer
Location: Richardson, TX
 
Job Description:  
Define, engineer, and resolve network capacity requirements for Telecommunication's long haul transport network utilizing high capacity next generation lightwave and wave division multiplexing technologies to meet network services capacity, vulnerability, diversity and growth requirements. Specific responsibilities include:

Perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments. This includes developing all of the specifications required for installation forces to properly install, turn-up, inventory, and configure the equipment, obtaining appropriate management approvals, issuing purchase orders, creating applicable diagrams/ drawings, and ensuring vendor delivery.

Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.

Develop Bill of Material and place orders for network equipment, rack, and hardware requirements.

Define cable requirements, create cable running lists, and order all cables.

Order all spares required based on sparing plan or directed by capacity management.

Manage, input, and update central Network Inventory Database (i.e. ICON) to reflect new builds, adds, and decommissions.

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent job-related experience, 5-6 years progressive, technical experience. Experience designing SONET and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems and drawing complex system diagrams using CAD-based software is preferred.

**Former Telecommunication Engineers with ICON experience preferred.

Our client, an established, privately-held company, is searching for an Equipment & Facility Manager who will lead maintenance support for a complex, build-to-order manufacturing plant and corporate campus. The ideal candidate has an engineering degree and proven facilities leadership experience.  This challenging and rewarding position is located in Northeast, Ohio (north of Akron in Summit County).  I have attached a more detailed position description for your review.

Job Description:
This position is for an Application Development Manager to manage and mentor alongside an agile development team. This person will be responsible for managing code development for all projects within the team. 
Technical Experience:
Experience leading an agile development team.
Preferred experience managing development teams working on global applications
Experience developing in ASP.Net / C#.
Experience gathering and authoring requirements associated with non-functional code and environment management processes.

These roles are contract-to-hire and, depending on level of experience, have the potential to be worked in a satellite office in IA, IN, or NC after several months of training in OH.

Description:

MetaSolv Infrastructure Design Engineer working primarily on broadband related builds/issues in all regions of the Client network. Secondary efforts include access/transport builds across the Client conglomerate network.

Requirements:

  • Verifying post-engineering network builds are designed properly
  • Outlining the path (design path) from a new device to a router or switch
  • Created/designed CLRs for various departments
  • Strong Cyan and use of Cyan's EMS (design interface)
  • Strong Understanding of packet optical (Transport, optical, Ethernet, broadband, etc.)
  • General understanding of Ethernet networking
  • Strong MetaSolv or similar system where you can see rings (Granite, TIRKS, etc.)
  • Inventorying said builds in Client databases per standards
  • Working VP escalations & pet projects, and working any project that requires extensive knowledge of the workings of the Client network and the databases they are kept in
  • Hand-picked for the new MID team due to working with a wide range of broadband related equipment and their respective Element Management Systems in the Client network
  • Aggregation/cost savings engineer for BB13/BB14 initiatives
  • Responsible for all broadband dedicated packet optical transport equipment including Cisco CPT and the Cyan Z series platform
  • Also responsible for cost savings initiatives in the NE, which includes deploying new DSL equipment (TA3000 DSLAM/AGG/COT) and upgrading/rolling existing equipment (TA3000, TA12xx, TA5000, C7)
  • Engineering responsibilities also include identifying network issues, developing a plan based on the findings, executing said plan, and implementing all components and equipment to repair the issue
  • Performing the backhaul design from point A to Z, from device to device
Desired Skills:
  • Adtran
  • Cisco and use of their EMS (CTC) or Prime Optical
  • Configuration of rings
  • DWDM will be limited
